One thing I like about the circus is that the audience is all around you. There is no front, and there is no back. At any one point the audience is seeing you from the front, the side and the back. This is very cool. Comparing this to the stage where there is an obvious front and back—Suddenly your act becomes 3-dimensional.
It is great because you have a clear idea of the audience being all around you.
The kids were great. Which makes my job so much more enjoyable.
What a life. I get to ride a bike. I get to enjoy myself. And I get to help reinforce positive attitudes to the kids. Sometimes I feel pretty special.
I replied that it would be unfeasible for the school to pay me to travel all that way for one show. I suggested that a way that we could both benefit would be to organise a few schools for shows on the same day.
Which got me wondering….
School shows. At Circus Oz, the school kids alwaysloved the BMX act. In fact, I was on Australias Got Talent—albeit for 2 minutes. 6 months later I was still being recognised from the show by people in the Circus Oz audience.
So anyway, I am working on a 30 minute school show. Should be fun!
