One Week To Go

I asked my kite surfing buddy if his wife would like me to take some pictures of her pregnant belly. He said, “YES!”

I had a little chat to her before hand and showed her some of the photos that I have taken of Sarah and Sosi. And she quite liked the silhouette pictures. No worries.

I had a quick scout around their house and decided where the best position would be. Pretty much shooting directly into the sun. (I think I am having a thing about shooting into the light.)

And with a strobe on either side of her, I should get a nice silhouette happening.

I am very happy with it.

2 bare flash camera left and right. About 45 degrees behind subject approx 3-4 feet away. Waist level.
The sun is providing the light on top.

No photoshop. Post production was simply bringing down the curves to darken the dark areas.

Body Painting

I got home at about 12 noon. Sarah was so cute when she walked through the door. She had just finished a Mark Reid body painting workshop.

Sar was very excited because Mark was going to paint her belly the next evening.

Crazy Storm

I was flicking through the tv channels and happened to stop at the weather channel. They were showing a severe storm front that was about 20 minutes away from Austin.

20 minutes later and sure enough, BAM! The wind was crazy. The rain was bucketing down — well — sideways.

Earlier today, I went for a little walk along the river jogging/cycle track. I saw a dude chilling out in a tree.

A little further along, I saw these two little fellas just hangin’ out.

Texas

I’m really enjoying Texas. I was out late last night looking for some food and I saw my first real life American cowboy.

Shopping today and I saw a little baby cowboy.

The Texans are lovely folk.

And they have astonishingly large onions.

A Gorgeous Lazy Saturday Afternoon

Between shows I rushed home so I could video chat Sarah. She was about to leave, so I bid farewell and decided that since it was such a gorgeous afternoon, I might go try and climb the hill. (This photo was taken yesterday)
Durant Ave, Berkeley

The moon was sitting there just above the trees.

At this stage I was starting to hurry because I knew the sun would be setting very soon. And if I was lucky, I might even be able to snap a shot of it setting behind San Francisco.

I was lucky.
Sunset over San Francisco

Then I saw the most peculiar thing. The sun was below the horizon and it looked like it was shining through the water. I figured that the sun was just reflecting off the atmosphere and again reflecting off the ocean. You can see it clearly.

On my way, I discovered that if I climbed the hill just on the side of the road, I would have an uninterrupted view of the Bay and all the cities. Wow.
