It is all about the juggling
The holidays are over and we are nearing the end of our one week rehersal period. The air freight has to be packed tomorrow night because it leaves on Sunday.
The show is looking pretty good. There are five new performers, so the whole flavour of the show has changed quite dramatically.
I must say, it is great having Joel back in the show. I nearly fell over from laughing when we ran through the show today. Joel was hilarious in the flying trapeze.
Rocky is pretty awesome too. She has learnt SO much up there in Brisbane with Circa (previously Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus). She is really setting the standard performance wise.
Our new bounce ball juggler — we now have lots of jugglers so I have to make the distinction of what type of juggler — Jacqui has some sweet tricks and patterns. And she is pretty good on the rolla bolla too.
And Ben is just an awesome acrobat. Fwoar. The rock acro act is now one to watch out for.
Four juggling acts. Excellent! Now I just have to figure out how to get my cigar boxes into the show and there will be FIVE juggling acts! Joel and I can do a sweet club passing act. That will make SIX! It gets better and better. And if do a glo-ball act — SEVEN. Heh heh heh. How many trapeze acts are there? Ha!
It must be noted here that there always seems to be a “thing” between jugglers and aerialists. Jugglers tend to find aerialists quite hoytie toytie and a little snobish. Where as aerialists find jugglers just way too nerdy. Jugglers go, I could go up and do those tricks on the trapeze, but man, it just hurts way too much. Aerialists wish that they could juggle but have no natural sense of timing and co-ordination, so they hide this fact by telling everyone how great they are because they are up in the air and can put up with a bit of pain.
So it looks like jugglers now have the day. For ages there was no juggling in the show. Now there are four juggling acts. Four. Soon to be seven. Sweet.
