The flight was not too bad. I cannot remember how long it was. I was watching the movie, then I read my book. Less than five hours I think. Not too bad for an international flight. I had to smile when I opened up the in-flight magazine and saw a full page picture of myself. That was pretty cool. You can see Christa too.

The taxi driver pulls up and knocks on the door at 6:05am. It is all good. I booked it for 6:15 and he is a little bit early.

We are heading off to New Zealand tomorrow and I am yet to pack. I should know by now that I should have a default list of what to take, then add specifics later. Like if we are going to a cold place, take gloves, scarf, beanies and warm jacket. Somewhere that is hot, sunscreen. Or if it is going to be both boiling and freezing, like on the Western Australian Outback tour where it was 44° in Newman and 6° in Port Lincoln, you kind of have to take everything.

The Melbourne season has again come and gone.
This years’ season, for me, was a tough one. I injured my back and as it was seemingly improving, and I was back in the show (albeit doing much less), the fire bike collapsed and broke underneath me, and there went my back again. And I was out of the show for another weekend.
The final week went without a hitch. The flying went back into the show sans moi. No fire-bike. Instead, I stood on stage wearing my silly helmet on fire.
Barry Humphreys came and posed for a photo with Matt and Christa.
What else? Sarah and I found a new kitten that we called Manxi. He bit me and scratched my hands up a fair bit.
And I did not make it to the end of season party because I was painting our new house.
We go back to Port Melbourne on Friday to re-pack a couple of things for the New Zealand tour.

Just as my back was getting better, the fire bike collapsed underneath me and sent my back into spasm again. Drats!
It does not seem to be as bad as last week’s spasm. I am hoping to be ok for most bits in Sunday’s show tomorrow.
